I Started a Game, and the Algorithm Got Bored
Two days ago I posted a note.
I’ve been fed up with Notes being treated like throwaway content.
In an attempt to fix this I have been experimenting with the idea that every note can be a canvas for art.
I am still learning how to do that. however the other day, I think I stumbled into something with this note.
That is when I unwittingly became the first participant in the game now taking place within that note.
The first commenter became the second participant, and the first exchange revealed the first five rules.
1) The original post is the invitation to play.
2) Anyone who responds becomes a participant.
3) Every comment is a move.
4) A move either continues the game or resolves it.
5) If a move does not resolve the game, the game continues.
Since that first comment, other rules have appeared in relation to these five fundamental rules.
Some people seem to think I already know all the rules.
I do not.
There is much about this game that I do not know because I am a participant like everyone else who enters.
This is a game where all participants are equal, but not all participants are identical.
At this point, the note has taken on a life of its own.
However the algorithm has gotten bored and the note is no longer getting new eyeballs. Even though there is still plenty of activity in the comments.
The algorithm sees 9 comments. But the game is getting close to having seen 50 moves.
So that’s why I made this post so that more people get a chance to play if they want.
If you want to play yourself you can by leaving a comment on the original note Here.
If you just want to spread the word restacking this post or the note above will help.
If you have any questions ask them in the comments.
